Meet Lena Kanter, CFNP

Lela Kanter is a board certified family nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience working with children and families. She began her career as an elementary school teacher before returning to school herself in 2017 to pursue a nursing degree. She is a certified pediatric nurse with diverse experience serving patients in hematology/oncology, organ transplant, and pulmonary medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her clinical interests include primary care for children with special healthcare needs, patient and family education, and adolescent medicine. Her philosophy emphasizes evidence-based care and shared decision-making between families and providers.

Lela has a Bachelor’s of Arts in history from Brown University, a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University and a Post-Master’s Certificate from the Catholic University of America. In her spare time, she enjoys playing outside with her two energetic young boys and relaxing in front of the TV with her husband
