Flouride Treatments

Your infant's first teeth may be subject to tooth decay from breastfeeding or a milk bottle and falling asleep without brushing the teeth. Bacteria in the mouth can cause the breakdown of tooth enamel. This tooth decay can be reduced or prevented by the application of a protectuve coating called flouride varnish to your child's teeth. Flouride is a safe and effective way to prevent tooth decay. Flouride varnish has been shown in scientific studies to reduce cavitites by 25 - 40%. This is the same application that is done in dental offices with older children. This allows the child to be protected even before their first dental visit. We can start Flouride treatment as early as 6-months of age and offer it to children through 35-months of age.

Speak with your medical provider about this service at your child's next physical appointment.
