Kathleen Hamilton, M.D.
Undergraduate: George Washington University

Residency: Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Pediatric Cardiology
Dr. Hamilton has been a vital part of NOVA Pediatrics for many years. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, then came to the D.C. area. After graduating from George Washington Medical School, she completed her residency and fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center.
Dr. Hamilton, board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology, is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a partner of NOVA Pediatrics.
If she could choose an area of Pediatrics that she finds most enjoyable, it would be infant well baby visits.
Newfoundland dogs are a large part of her home life. She is involved in raising and showing prize-winning dogs. Her home is filled with 5 “Newfies,” one Toy Manchester Terrier, and 1 cat. Dr. Hamilton is an avid football fan and, along with many Redskins fans, dreams every September of a Super Bowl season.
Mona Hanna, M.D.
Undergraduate: Cairo University Medical
Medical School: Cairo University Medical
Residency: University of South Alabama Medical
Dr. Hanna joined our practice in 2002. She grew up in Egypt and graduated from Cairo University Medical School.
Before coming to the United States, she worked as a family practitioner in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. She also worked as a patient coordinator at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Hanna completed her internship and residency at the University of Alabama. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has found dermatology and asthma are her favorite pediatric areas.
Dr. Hanna lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys reading, jogging, and listening to music.
Sharon Lee Hong, M.D.
Undergraduate: Dartmouth College
Medical School: Upstate Medical University
Residency: University of Maryland
Dr. Hong joined the practice in 2003 and completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College majoring in Psychology. Her medical training was completed at Upstate Medical University in New York, followed by her residency at the University of Maryland Hospital.
Dr. Hong is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
After growing up in upstate New York, she has been gradually moving south. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys spending time with her son, outdoor activities, music and yoga.
Pediatric endocrinology and adolescent medicine are the medical areas she most enjoys.
Robert Lu, M.D.
Undergraduate: Johns Hopkins University
Medical School: University of Southern California
Residency: Jacobi Hospital, Bronx, NY
Dr. Lu joined NOVA Pediatrics in 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins and then moved on to University of Southern California for his medical studies. He is delighted to be returned to the DC area after finishing his Pediatric residency in New York.
During his residency, Dr. Lu saw a large number of patients with asthma. This has led to his interests in Pediatric Asthma and Allergy. He also spent time in Pediatric Sports Medicine.
Dr. Lu and his wife have a young daughter. He is excited to be raising his new family in the area in which he grew up. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, rooting for the Redskins, and traveling to warm locales.
Tiffany Meyer, M.D.
Undergraduate: Dartmouth College
Medical School: George Washington University
Residency: Children’s National Medical Center
Dr. Meyer joined NOVA Pediatrics in 2006. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and completed her undergraduate studies with honors at Dartmouth College with a major in biology. She came to Washington, DC and earned her medical degree at George Washington University. She went on to complete her residency and fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. Furthermore, she earned a master in public health degree from George Washington University.
Dr. Meyer is board certified in both Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Although she is board certified in Adolescent Medicine, she enjoys caring for children of all ages, especially newborns, school-aged children, and teenagers.
She is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, creating greeting cards, scrapbooking, and playing tennis.
Violet Nematollahy, M.D.
Undergraduate: Tehran University
Medical School: Tehran University
Residency: Georgetown University Hospital
Dr. Violet Nematollahy came to NOVA Pediatrics in 1996 after merging her solo practice in Burke with ours. She was born in Iran and attended Tehran University, followed by a residency at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Nematollahy is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a partner of NOVA Pediatrics.
Dr. Nematollahy chooses newborns and teenagers as her favorite pediatric areas, two of the most challenging age groups!
When it comes to using free time, it is filled with tennis and biking. This year has brought with it French lessons and an attempt at skiing. While her daughter is away at college, Dr. Nematollahy is left to love and care for a chinchilla named Persephany.
Allison Rodgers, M.D.
Undergraduate: Georgetown University

Residency: University of Maryland Medical System, Baltimore, MD
Dr. Rodgers joined our practice in 1999 after completing her residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Rodgers is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She and her husband live in Montgomery County and they have two daughters. In addition to caring for her daughters, Dr. Rodgers plays piano. As with any working mom, free time is not often available for other activities, but she does enjoy playing tennis and traveling.
Laurence Seidman, M.D.
Undergraduate: State University of New York at Buffalo (Magna Cum Laude)
Medical School: New York Medical College
Residency: Georgetown University Hospital
Dr. Larry Seidman was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and survived the blizzard of 1977! He received his BS in Biology and Psychology from the University of Buffalo. He graduated from New York Medical College with an MD In 1986 and completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital in 1989.
He keeps up with his two teenage children and their sports. He enjoys collecting early children’s books, especially pop-ups. He has painted for years; his art can be seen on his website: www.larryseidmanart.com.
Ginger Beecher, C.P.N.P.-BC
Undergraduate: Medical College of Georgia
Graduate/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: Emory University
Ginger joined NOVA Pediatrics in 2006 and is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has been practicing as a PNP since 1993.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia and her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification from Emory University.
Ginger is originally from Macon, Georgia. She moved to Virginia in January 2006 with her husband, two sons, and two golden retrievers. Her many interests include cooking, sewing, gardening, singing, and playing the mandolin.
Léna Garcia, C.P.N.P.
Undergraduate: Georgetown University
Graduate/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: The Catholic University of America
Lena Garcia, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP), joined our practice in the spring of 2004.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and her Masters of Science in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
She brings a wide variety of pediatric experience, including working in the departments of Pulmonary and Hematology/Oncology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Her clinical interests are in primary care/wellness and asthma management. She is a clinical preceptor/affiliate faculty at George Mason University. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
She is married and has two daughters. Lena’s hobbies include horseback riding, dancing, skiing, and hiking.Sherry Weinstein, C.P.N.P., R.M.C.

Sherry joined our practice in 2008. She has over 30 years experience in nursing, all of which has been in pediatrics. She is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, School Nurse Practitioner, and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
She previously taught Pediatric Nurse Practitioners as a faculty member in the Graduate School of Nursing at both the University of Virginia and Emory University. In addition, she is a Registered Medical Coder. She is currently the Practice Administrator for NOVA Pediatrics and sees patients on a limited basis.
During her spare time, Sherry enjoys quilting and spending time with her family and young grandson.
